HAMANN WE ABOUT US

HAMANN MOTORSPORT
Automotive technology and design

Individual high performance cars with state-of-the-art technology and topical design are the specialty of HAMANN MOTORSPORT located in the South German village Hüttisheim near Ulm. Owner and founder of the company is Richard HAMANN, who invests his knowhow from more than 20 years in motorsports into sportive tuning for street cars. His career as a professional racing driver includes many highlights like three times Champion of the German Special Touring Car Trophy with a BMW M1 and races in Group C, DTM and Formula 3.

Back in 1986 the enterprise started customizing BMW cars. The first HAMANN project was a turbocharged version of the BMW M3 of the E30 model range. The two-door car powered 348 hp which accelerated the car in 5,1 seconds only from 0 - 100 km/h and made it 273 km/h fast.

HAMANN developed the tuning line steadily and meanwhile belongs to the most popular and biggest tuners all over the world.

The HAMANN 2002/2003 program includes all current BMW model ranges from the 316i compact up to the 760iL. HAMANN of course also offers tuning programs for the BMW X5 SUV and the Z8 roadster. In the last two years HAMANN extended the range to other brands with the exclusive range for the new MINI, tuning for the new Range Rover with BMW drivetrain and an individual program for Porsche automobiles. Since 1997 the HAMANN subsidiary Opera DESIGN offers customizing for Mercedes-Benz and smart cars.

No HAMANN car or tuning part is delivered to the customer before passing hard tests and TÜV homologation. Most important maxim of all activities is maximum quality at development and manufacturing.
